You now have an audio device on your Mac called “Loopback Audio.” If you use this as an input device, that input will be the output of GarageBand. In addition to using this as input, we want to “monitor” the device output.

Monitor Device Output

  1. On the right column of Loopback, add a Monitor.
  2. If you have the scarlet plugged in, you can use that as your monitor

You should now have your MIDI device connected to Garageband, and looped into QuickTime. Pressing record should include all audio from the MIDI device.
